Turns out someone else is thinking on the same wavelength as myself. I wrote after the Iowa caucus that none of the major candidates seemed to be making a concerted effort to court the Latino vote. Well, it turns out The New Republic has been drinking the same water.
Check out Obama’s missed opportunity here (unfortunately!): http://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/the_plank/archive/2008/01/08/the-missed-opportunity-in-obama-s-fine-speech.aspx
1/19/08: Thought I would add an update to this recent post about the Latino vote: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/15/us/politics/15hispanic.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
Side Note: Slate seems to be one of the places where the opinion writers actually tackle the heart of the electability issue for Clinton, Edwards and Obama. And to say the least, I am impressed.
